The National Institute for Learning Development, NILD, uses some information from you and your computer or portable device for us to properly serve you, as described below.

When purchasing these products and training, or when making donations, visitors will be asked to provide contact and credit/debit card information. We do not share this information with third parties or sell it to them. eStore and Cvent customers may opt out of being contacted for future offers

Responses to Email Inquiries

NILD does not share the email addresses and other personal contact information from inquiries made to our site with any third party and will only use this contact information to answer inquiries.

Protection of Students’ Personal Information

Under the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parents / guardians and students over 18 years of age (including therapists in training) have certain rights concerning how NILD releases educational records.  We accept and maintain the educational records needed to support students’ learning development. We keep this information confidential and will release it only with the appropriate permissions of parents / guardians and students over age 18. Some educational information may be gathered in aggregate for data in research studies to enhance our programs.  In such instances, personally identifiable information is removed from the data.

Member Information

We collect personally identifiable information – name, address, email address and phone number – from members.  We do not sell or rent our member names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information to third parties for any purpose.  At any time members may request the removal of their information by contacting us.

How NILD Uses Your Personally Identifiable Information

We use personally identifiable information that you provide us for the following purposes.

  • We use personal identifying information from users in various ways to provide the services and support you seek. We use your email address in order to respond to your questions and submissions or to maintain your registration.
  • We use your email address and phone number to contact you regarding services we can provide to you.
  • Member contact information – name, certification, address, email, and phone number – is listed in the directory of NILD Educational Therapists unless you specifically request that we do not do so.
  • From time to time we conduct surveys of members for the purpose of evaluating the use of our services, and we may use your information to contact you regarding your degree of satisfaction with the services we provide.


A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer containing information about the user’s visit. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If you reject the cookie, you may still use our site. Members be advised that rejection of cookies may limit your access to some members-only content.

Log Files

We collect and keep track of the following information about your computer or portable device: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example,; the date and time you access our site; the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site; the operating system and version of the device you use; and the type of web browser and version you use. We use this log information to help diagnose problems with our server and website, and to administer our website.

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track a user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. We do not share this aggregated demographic information with any other organization. The log files are not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
