NILD Financial Assistance Policy
& Application

NILD is committed to equipping educators and professionals with high-quality training in educational therapy. To make our courses accessible while maintaining program excellence and financial sustainability, we offer need-based financial assistance to eligible participants. Note: Scholarship procedures have been established per the NILD Board of Directors and the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training.

Eligibility Criteria

Financial assistance is available to applicants who:

✔ Are enrolled in a qualifying NILD course or training program with at least a down payment of $250 completed.

✔ Can demonstrate financial need using documentation aligned with the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG).

✔ Are not currently receiving training funds from an employer or third-party sponsor.

✔ Hold, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree.

(The following apply to Level II and III applicants only)

✔ Have shown competence in previous NILD courses

✔ Have exhibited commitment to NILD through

✔ Maintaining NILD licensure requirements

✔ Annual conference attendance

✔ Number of students served annually

✔ Compliance with NILD-recommended schedules for training

Discount Structure (Based on Household Income and size)

% of Federal Poverty Guideline (FPG) | Tuition Discount

Up to 150% of FPG | 50% discount

151–200% of FPG | 45% discount

201–250% of FPG | 40% discount

251–300% of FPG | 35% discount

300-350% of FPG | 30% discount

351-400% of FPG | 25% discount

Above 400% of FPG | Not eligible

📌 FPG is adjusted annually by HHS and accounts for household size.

Required Documentation

Applicants must submit:

✔ Most recent federal tax return (1040) (for most recent two years filed – include all W2s including spouse and Schedule A if applicable)

✔ Proof of income (pay stub, social security, or unemployment)

✔ Completed Financial Aid Application Form

Application Process

1. Submit your financial aid application at least 30 days prior to your training date.

2. Applications are reviewed within 10 business days.

3. Decisions will be communicated via email and are final for that enrollment period.

4. Approved students will receive a discount code to apply at registration.

Policy Notes

✔ Aid is not retroactive and applies only to course or workshop tuition (not materials, lodging, or travel).

✔ Discounts are not transferable and cannot be combined with other promotions or scholarships.

✔ A limited annual budget is allocated for financial aid. Scholarship funds are issued on a first come, first serve basis according to need. Early application is encouraged.

✔ NILD reserves the right to verify financial data and adjust awards accordingly.

  • Optional: Written statement of special circumstances (if applicable)

Describe your commitment to/plans for the future growth and development of the NILD model within your school or private practice.
List any academic recognition or honors that you consider relevant (furnish appropriate transcripts), and/or comment on your intent to pursue a graduate degree.
