Bio:   Brenda Weiland trained to work with adolescents in her undergraduate studies. When she found that many problems in the teen years had their roots in the preschool years, she completed an AMS preprimary Montessori certification program. When her own children had learning difficulties in school, she attended graduate school and earned degrees in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, and Education of the Exceptional Child. She understands the dynamics that families with special needs go through and enjoys the transformational process that NILD brings to students and their families.

Bio:   Growing up, I struggled in school, but in high school I tutored my peers and became passionate about learning. For 40 years I have invested in others’ academic success. From bush Alaska to the jungles of Costa Rica, God gave me opportunities to teach elementary school, special education, English as a second language, homeschool our three children, and mentor homeschool moms while tutoring their children. My desire as an educational therapist and certified teacher is to serve children and adults as they overcome learning challenges and become confident and competent lifelong learners.

Bio:   Hello! I am a teacher turned homeschool mama to my three kids. I have homeschooled for ten years. I also teach in the co-op setting to about 50 students each year. I teach mostly reading intervention with phonemic awareness and literature classes for upper elementary. I have a BA in English Literature and a M.Ed. in Secondary Education. Before I had children of my own, I taught classes at a live in teen rehab in Los Angeles. I love learning and feel that first, I'm always a student. My youngest was diagnosed with severe dyslexia and having a NILD therapist has made such a difference and I'm eager to learn to continue to help her and others!

Bio:   I am Carmen Glodfelter. I am a Licensed NILD professionally certified education therapist and hold a Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language(TESOL). I currently am living and serving in Chiang Rai, Thailand. I have been serving in SE Asia for the last 25 years.

Bio:   Have Tutor Will Teach was formed in April, 2000, to meet the needs of students in the Tri-County region of Digby, Shelburne, and Yarmouth counties of Nova Scotia. Home-schooling three of our children, the youngest being severely brain-injured from an accident, challenged me to extend my knowledge of working with a broader scope of clientele. After I became an NILD educational therapist I added the business, The Four R's: Reading, 'Riting, 'Rithmetic, and Relationships for working with students with learning difficulties. I have a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Educational Therapy and Dyslexia Therapy. I am a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist through the National Institute for Learning Development Canada and the USA and a Certified Dyslexia Therapist through the International Dyslexia Association. *I have taken a course in teletherapy so I am now capable of working with long-distance students online. This has provided much needed assistance to both the students and their parents. I have worked with many special needs students as well as diversified learners. My Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics has enabled me to work with parents and their children on dietary issues that affect learning and behaviour. As an Educational Therapist I have worked with people of all ages who have had strokes or Acquired Traumatic Brain Injuries besides those individuals with learning challenges. As a Certified Dyslexia Therapist I have worked with young students and older individuals with dyslexia ranging from mild to severe cases. Bio:   Beginning my teaching career in 1981, I transitioned to educational therapy in 1995. I grew the program at Lincoln Christian from me being the first therapist with 9 students to eventually having 6 teachers and 40 kids per year. So many connections and so much success achieved by these students. Currently, I have a private practice with experience in person or with teletherapy. I have also evaluated well over 100 students and excel at recommendations and effective therapy. My super power is building relationships.

Bio:   I’m Filipino, an only child, and graduate of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in English (BSED) at the Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku College, a Japanese school in Davao City. I studied Japanese language and culture for three (3) years before shifting to Education. I’m currently working remotely in events management for a global company and as a ghostwriter for an online writing platform. I used to work as an online English teacher in Cambly and in 51Talk. I envision myself to practice ET in the future to help those in need of my service. I love to read, play online games, write, crochet, do archery, paint and draw digitally, and hang out with friends.
