Bio: I have worked in education for over 18 years, with experience spanning grammar school, junior high, high school, and even college instruction. After a period of staying home to raise my children, I returned to the classroom with a renewed passion for helping students thrive in their learning. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in grammar and a Master’s degree in English Literature, specializing in feminist theory and Georgian and Regency literature. For the past three years, I have been serving as a dyslexia therapist, certified through the Dyslexia Institute for Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy Therapy. In 2024, I earned my NILD Level I license and also currently work as an educational therapist. At our classical Christian school, I lead all of the structured literacy groups on campus. More than anything, I consider it a God-given privilege to teach children to read. Reading has been a lifelong love of mine, and I count it a joy to pass on that love to the next generation of learners.
Bio: Laurie has a diverse background in education including homeschooling, educational interpreter, classroom teacher, and now as an educational therapist for the last 17 years. Her masters program was as a reading specialist. She finds using the gifts God has given her working one-on-one with children to be satisfying, exciting, and a blessing.
