Bio: Growing up, I struggled in school, but in high school I tutored my peers and became passionate about learning. For 40 years I have invested in others’ academic success. From bush Alaska to the jungles of Costa Rica, God gave me opportunities to teach elementary school, special education, English as a second language, homeschool our three children, and mentor homeschool moms while tutoring their children. My desire as an educational therapist and certified teacher is to serve children and adults as they overcome learning challenges and become confident and competent lifelong learners.
Bio: The 2026- 2027 school year will be my 29th year as an educator. I was a teacher and held leadership roles for 24 years in Katy ISD and CyFair ISD. Next school year will be my 5th year at Cypress Christian School as an educational therapist. I am incredibly honored that God led me to CCS. I know that education in any capacity is a ministry, and I love doing God’s work with young people.
I hold the following certifications/credentials:
Professional Development Appraisal System Certification
Texas State Teacher Elementary Comprehensive Certification
Texas State Teacher Secondary Certification
Texas State Teacher English As A Second Language (ESL) Certificate
English as a Second Language Grades (PK-12)
Elementary Self-Contained Grades (1-8)
I am the proudest wife and mother. As a family, we love to be a part of our church family, volunteer together, be outdoors in nature doing all types of activities & exercise, and we all love to read.
My husband does philanthropy work for many organizations in our community. This is a special part of his ministry and our family business. Community outreach is a part of his heart for Jesus, and we are devoted to this as a family.
I have also volunteered for animal shelters, rescues, and animal welfare organizations for close to 3 decades. Being an advocate for children and animals is my passion.
My daughter and I will be in NCL this year which will give us even more opportunities to do philanthropy work together.
Our daughter is in dance company (competitive dancer), she's a long distance runner, she loves to sing and play the piano, and she's a beautiful artist and designer.
I have many Bible scriptures that I lean on at different moments in my life. However, one I recite and hold in my heart every day is Psalm 19:14, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Oh Lord, my Rock and My Redeemer.”
These also have given me peace. I have been through health struggles for a few years now, and the steadfast love of the Lord has carried me through.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in all situations, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 121:1-8 I will lift mine eyes to the hills from where comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to stumble... he will not slumber.
Blessings,
