Bio: I began my NILD journey while teaching at a small parochial school, frustrated by an inability to reach struggling students. It seemed as if nothing I did helped some students improve. An colleague suggested NILD educational therapy. From the first lesson in rhythmic writing, I knew that this was something different and would work for students. Eight years later, my passion for helping students overcome their learning challenges has only grown. The greatest reward is to help students unlock success and discover confidence in school and within themselves.
Bio: Director of Cognitive Enrichment and Support, Gaston Christian School, Gastonia, NC
Bio: After homeschooling my own child with learning disabilities, and recognizing the need for more resources to help students in need, I decided to become an educational therapist. I returned to school in 2018 and received my degree in Special Education. I continued on to complete Level 1 NILD Educational Therapist training and opened my business, Divergent Learning. I have since worked with students in grades 3-11 and seen the NILD program make an impact in their lives. I am also a certified Mediator in FIE and work with students ages 10 to 18 to increase cognitive modifiability. My goal is to empower students with not just educational skills, but with self confidence that they carry with them throughout their lives.

This year, I have also taught a high school level computer applications course at a local homeschool co-op, tutored in Algebra 2, volunteered with my son’s high school football team and served as a pre-teen small group leader at my church. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children, and two dogs.
