Bio: Teaching my children to read at ages 4 and 5 went smoothly as I followed the instructions in a recommended book. It wasn't until a friend of mine asked me to tutor her daughter in reading and learning skills that I realized how challenging it can be to develop literacy skills. None of the things that worked for my children worked for her. As time passed, I realized that many children were falling through the cracks and not learning to read. This led me to find the National Institute of Learning Development. After homeschooling and working in the public schools for a time, I decided to return to college to pursue a Master's degree in Exceptional Student Education and Educational Therapy at Southeastern University. I also earned a Certificate of Dyslexia Education. For the past 8 years, I have been on a journey to make reading and learning skills available to all. I have set up my private practice and see students in the Hamburg area of Lexington, KY. My office is situated at the intersection of Interstate 64 and Interstate 75. When a child works with a NILD educational therapist, they learn skills and strategies to help them reach their full potential.
Bio: I am a School Psychologist (NCSP) and Professionally Certified Educational Therapist (PCET) with FIE Standard 3 Mediator Training and Tele-therapy Licensure. I have a Masters of Science in Applied Psychology with an Educational Specialist in School Psychology. I look forward to not only helping families with the evaluation/diagnosing process, but also providing essential interventions to help students become independent learners. www.lovelllearning.com
Bio: Miriam Jordan has been an educator for 36 years starting as a preschool and primary elementary classroom teacher, to mentor, educational therapist and most recent adjunct professor. She received her bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and her master’s degree from the University of Miami in early childhood special education. She established a Discovery program at a Christian school and in 2006 founded a non-profit organization called One Child At A Time, Inc., which meets the needs of all learners in the community. She handed the baton in 2022 and expanded her teaching into the college level. She leads with purpose and passion by serving the community as educational specialist, IEP Coordinator and Miami Dade College professor. She has been married to her sweetheart for 43 years, has four children and three grandbabies. Faith, trust, integrity, and building relationships comprise the very essence of her educational approach, which is defined by a teachable spirit.
Bio: I first saw NILD Educational Therapy in 1994; and I thought it was weird. I thought: no child with a disability could do that rhythmic writing! But I was intrigued. Almost 30 years later, and it is the thing I love to do most: help children think more efficiently and facilitate change in their lives. I have a private practice in Fayetteville NC, and am proud to be a long time PCET. Still learning and growing. Joy In Learning Discovery Center 108 Hay Street Suite 212 Fayetteville, NC 28301
