
Part-Time Educational Therapist Needed

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Therapist to join our team at Hope Springs Christian School. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in levels two and three NILD Therapy( National Institute For Learning Development), and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality social and emotional care for students in grades 5 through 8. This role involves working with individuals and families, addressing a range of exceptionalities to include Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Dysgraphia. The Educational Therapist will be responsible for conducting a battery of tests using the Woodcock Johnson assessment, and implementing therapeutic interventions, tailored to the unique needs of every student that informs academic improvement and success at each grade level.
Responsibilities
*Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine students' needs
*Develop and implement individualized plans utilizing evidence-based practices
*Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate student engagement and progress
*Maintain a positive attitude and properly facilitate the process of students working towards their goals
*Offer crisis intervention and management strategies as needed
*Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state regulations
*Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate learning goals for students with complex needs
*Engage data collection to enhance therapeutic practices
*Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions when necessary
*Stay informed about developments in the field of Dyslexia and other exceptionalities through ongoing education and training
Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
*Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology or Bachelor of Science degree in Education
*Worked with children in a classroom or clinical setting
*Familiarity with child & family counseling, crisis management, and behavior management techniques
*Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
*Proficiency in various therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy
*Be proficient using the Woodcock Johnson assessment to determine cognitive and/or academic level(s)
*Strong understanding of the National Institute For Learning Development (NILD) teaching techniques and assessment protocols
