5-Core Review: Rhythmic Writing & Mat-Refresh & Research

Rhythmic Writing is a powerful technique, but is it really important for ALL educational therapy students? Join us as we explore the reason behind each step of Rhythmic Writing, learning what to do when things go wrong, and understanding how to modify the technique while still operating with fidelity. We will explore different priorities for different learner profiles and discuss intentional crossovers educational therapists could use to weave the concepts in Rhythmic Writing throughout their therapy session. You’ll leave with practical ideas to revitalize your Rhythmic Writing and engage your students in meaningful discovery.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Articulate the purpose and goals of the Rhythmic Writing technique and explain its role within the broader instructional framework.
  • Describe and implement the procedure with fidelity, identifying the essential steps that ensure clarity, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Identify practical refinements that increase student engagement and impact while preserving the integrity of the technique.
  • Analyze common implementation pitfalls and apply solutions to strengthen instructional delivery.
  • Design intentional connections between Rhythmic Writing and other core techniques, creating more integrated and meaningful learning experiences.
