About Your Speaker:
Melanie Davda, MAED, PCET
Melanie Davda joined Fraser Academy in 2013 after seven years with the Vancouver School Board public schools. She holds a Master of Education degree specializing in educational therapy and is certified as both an Educational Therapist (PCET) and a Dyslexia Therapist. At FAx, Fraser Academy’s Outreach Centre, Ms. Davda oversees Educational Therapy and Consulting, where she is dedicated to making learning and literacy accessible to all students. With a passion for empowering learners, Ms. Davda helps students build confidence and competence while supporting families in advocating for their child’s educational needs. She also provides professional development for educators and conducts Level B Psychometric Assessments for students. In addition, she serves as an Instructor for Level I Educational Therapy with the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD). Ms. Davda finds her greatest joy in witnessing moments of understanding—when the "light bulb" turns on for a student—or when a previously reluctant reader discovers a newfound passion for reading.
