Bio: I began my NILD journey while teaching at a small parochial school, frustrated by an inability to reach struggling students. It seemed as if nothing I did helped some students improve. An colleague suggested NILD educational therapy. From the first lesson in rhythmic writing, I knew that this was something different and would work for students. Eight years later, my passion for helping students overcome their learning challenges has only grown. The greatest reward is to help students unlock success and discover confidence in school and within themselves.
Bio: Director of Cognitive Enrichment and Support, Gaston Christian School, Gastonia, NC
Bio: After homeschooling my own child with learning disabilities, and recognizing the need for more resources to help students in need, I decided to become an educational therapist. I returned to school in 2018 and received my degree in Special Education. I continued on to complete Level 1 NILD Educational Therapist training and opened my business, Divergent Learning. I have since worked with students in grades 3-11 and seen the NILD program make an impact in their lives. I am also a certified Mediator in FIE and work with students ages 10 to 18 to increase cognitive modifiability. My goal is to empower students with not just educational skills, but with self confidence that they carry with them throughout their lives.
Bio: After ten years of homeschooling my children, and since August 2023, I have worked at the Pearl Center as a Math Aide. I am also a tutor and substitute teacher there. This year, I have also taught a high school level computer applications course at a local homeschool co-op, tutored in Algebra 2, volunteered with my son’s high school football team and served as a pre-teen small group leader at my church. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children, and two dogs.
Bio: Online and In-person. Florida Step Up For Students Scholarship Provider. I invite you to check out my NILD story and my private practice, THINK BIG Educational Services on my website: THINKBIGedu.net.
Bio: The 2025- 2026 school year will be my 28th year as an educator. I was a teacher and held leadership roles for 24 years in Katy ISD and CyFair ISD. It will be my fourth year at Cypress Christian School as an educational therapist. I am incredibly honored that God led me to CCS. I know that education is a ministry, and I love doing God’s work at our amazing school. I hold the following certifications/credentials: Professional Development Appraisal System Certification Texas State Teacher Elementary Comprehensive Certification Texas State Teacher Secondary Certification Texas State Teacher English As A Second Language (ESL) Certificate English as a Second Language Grades (PK-12) Elementary Self-Contained Grades (1-8) I am the proudest wife and mother. As a family, we love to be a part of our church family, volunteer together, be outdoors in nature doing all types of activities & exercise, and we all love to read. I have also volunteered for animal shelters, rescues, and animal welfare organizations for close to 3 decades. Being an advocate for children and animals is my passion. I have many Bible scriptures that I lean on at different moments in my life. However, one I recite and hold in my heart every day is Psalm 19:14, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Oh Lord, my Rock and My Redeemer.” These also have given me peace. I have been through some health struggles this school year, and the steadfast love of the Lord has carried me through. 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in all situations, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Psalm 121:1-8 I will lift mine eyes to the hills from where comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to stumble... he will not slumber. Blessings, Tiphany Nesbit
