Bio: I am a school based PCET with 15 years experience.
Bio: I have been working in the field and with students with learning differences for over 20 years. Recently I have worked at Coastline Christian Schools as their Director of Educational Support for the last 11 years and prior to that I worked as a private practice Educational therapist and teacher Preschool- Middle School. I have a master's degree in Education with an emphasis on Educational Therapy from Regent University. I have a passion for helping struggling students and families who want answers and a way to help their children succeed in the classroom.
Bio: Brenda Weiland trained to work with adolescents in her undergraduate studies. When she found that many problems in the teen years had their roots in the preschool years, she completed an AMS preprimary Montessori certification program. When her own children had learning difficulties in school, she attended graduate school and earned degrees in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, and Education of the Exceptional Child. She understands the dynamics that families with special needs go through and enjoys the transformational process that NILD brings to students and their families.
Bio: I am a 41-year veteran and specialist in the field of learning differences. I currently serve as the Director of the NILD Academic Center for Empowerment (ACE) at The Woodlands Christian Academy. I have been an instructor for NILD since 1997 and have been blessed to help develop several NILD programs in Georgia and Texas. I also work alongside other amazingly talented instructors, developing the NILD curriculum. I obtained a B.S. in Elementary Education from Texas A&M and an M.Ed. in Special Education from Prairie View A&M University. In 2007, I was blessed to receive the NILD “Grace Mutzabaugh Award” for providing service and leadership in the NILD organization, and for inspiring and helping other NILD educational therapists. In 2024, I was humbled and honored to receive the NILD 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award for my work over the years to empower other educators and honor Deborah's and Grace's legacies in transforming the futures of those who often struggle to learn. I married my high school sweetheart after college in 1977, and we will celebrate our 48th anniversary this summer. We have two wonderful grown sons and a sweet Bloodhound furbaby named "LilBit." I love shopping and traveling to new places. Last but not least, I absolutely love teaching NILD therapists and students and watching the transformative impact NILD therapy can have on their lives! It is one of the greatest joys of my life. Isaiah 54:2: "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, and do not hold back: lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. "
Bio: Growing up, I struggled in school, but in high school I tutored my peers and became passionate about learning. For 40 years I have invested in others’ academic success. From bush Alaska to the jungles of Costa Rica, God gave me opportunities to teach elementary school, special education, English as a second language, homeschool our three children, and mentor homeschool moms while tutoring their children. My desire as an educational therapist and certified teacher is to serve children and adults as they overcome learning challenges and become confident and competent lifelong learners.
